A unique sculpture celebrating the historic Scottish-Polish links will be soon available in digital form.

The Map was funded by Jan Tomasik, a former sergeant in the 1st Armoured Division of the Polish Army during World War II, who was stationed in Galashiels during the War, to celebrate the relations between Poland and Scotland. The map was completed in 1979.

The map has now been scanned digitally using the 3D technology, as part of the project led by Historic Environment Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Government and Mapa Scotland (http://www.mapascotland.org/).
